Jack and Barbara Nicklaus founded the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation in 2004, in an effort to provide families access to world-class pediatric health care

Through collaborations with pediatric hospitals across the country, the Foundation has grown from a vision to a reality, supporting innovation programs focused on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of childhood illness.

Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Miami Children's Hospital, a world leader in pediatric healthcare. With a medical staff of more than 650 physicians and over 3,500 employees, the hospital is renowned for excellence in all aspects of pediatric medical care from birth through adolescence. Nicklaus Children's Hospital offers more than 40 pediatric specialties and subspecialties, and is home to Florida’s only free-standing pediatric trauma center.

Nicklaus Children's Hospital also identified a need for Pediatric Outpatient Centers to better serve families in communities where they live.  Nicklaus Children's Hospital developed nine (9) centers that feature select pediatric healthcare services such as urgent care, subspecialty appointments and rehabilitation for children up to 21 years old.
